Governance arrangements for Adult Social Care strategy groups
The current governance model was agreed in January 2024 by the Adult Social Care Divisional Leadership team (DLT), to ensure clear and tight arrangements are in place to oversee progress of the partnership groups, established to oversee the adult social care strategies for Slough.
Each of the strategies have been approved by Cabinet and aligned to the Coucil’s Corporate Five Year Plan as well as national policy and legislative drivers. The stratgies were all developed through extensive local engagement with residents including people with lived experience. This includes the Coproduction network, community and voluntary groups and other statuatory stakeholders.
There is a requirement that the Partnership Boards provide twice yearly progress updates to Adult Social Care DLT, the Coproduction Network and Cabinet.
The Strategy Groups are coordinated by a lead Commissioner within the People, strategy and commissioning team and are co-chaired by people with lived experiences. Each of the groups have clear terms of reference and have established task and finish groups supporting particular actions within the strategies.
Currently the Strategy groups that are in place are as follows:
- Carers Steering Group
- Older Peoples Steering Group
- Autism Steering Group
- Learning Disabilites Partnership Board.
A Mental Health strategy is in the process of being coproduced with local stakeholders. The intention is that a Steering Group will also be established to oversee this strategy.
A record of the meetings for the various Partnership Boards as well as the Coproduction network can be accessed on Slough Borough Coucil website. For more information about these Boards, please contact _BeInvolved@slough.gov.uk
