Autism strategy
The Autism strategy 2024-2029 describes how the council will work with its partners to reduce inequalities for autistic adults to live a good life as independently as possible within the local community. The strategy sets out our ambitions to further integrate the work of health and social care professionals to coproduce solutions that improve the lives of autistic people.
The Strategy sets out 8 key priorities and includes an action plan that will be reviewed annually. The Autism strategy will be overseen by a new steering group formed by autistic individuals, their carers, the Co-production Network, council officers, NHS partners, and other professional stakeholders such as DWP, Police, and the business community. Implementation of the strategy will be coordinated by the Learning Disability and Autism Commissioner.
