Adults Mental Health Commissioning Strategy

The Adults Mental Health Commissioning Strategy 2024-2029 sets out a clear vision for transforming mental health services across the borough, ensuring that support is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to local needs. The strategy has been shaped through consultation and engagement with the Co-production Network, service users, individuals with lived experience, carers, local organisations and key partners.

The strategy outlines seven key priorities, which includes:

  1. early intervention and prevention
  2. improve access to mental health services
  3. integrate mental health with physical and social care
  4. provide effective crisis support
  5. support vulnerable and diverse populations
  6. develop a skilled and compassionate workforce
  7. enhance mental health awareness and reduce stigma.

The strategy includes an action plan, and a Steering Group will oversee its implementation, monitor progress, and ensure accountability to ensure that we deliver meaningful improvements in mental health services. With this strategy, we are taking decisive steps to create an integrated, person-centred mental health system in Slough that prioritises prevention, recovery, and resilience.
