Digital community safety
Cyber crime is an umbrella term for lots of different types of crimes which either take place online or where technology is a means and/or target for the attack.
It is one of the fastest growing criminal activities across the world, and can affect both individuals and businesses.
Cyber / digital crime does not respect geographic boundaries. Having a consistent approach towards tackling it and protecting people is considered a helpful way forward.
There are plans to develop a library of resources for local areas to use as needed. This would include the key online resources, awareness publications, and activities that are planned or have taken place in various localities. This would be Thames Valley wide.
The aim remains to have a common approach to cyber crime and to take advantage of existing knowledge, learning, and practice across the Thames Valley to implement and try out locally.
