Digital assistance volunteer
This customer-facing role will give you the chance to put your digital skills to good use enabling library users to access the information and services they need online and providing them with clear instructions on how to use the library’s IT facilities. Training, plus support and guidance from staff, will help you develop your knowledge of the library’s digital offer so you can encourage residents to make the most of all our resources and empower them to use the library independently.
Tasks could include
- Assisting customers to access online services and find information on the internet
- Assisting customers with printing, photocopying and scanning
- Assisting customers to use the self-service kiosks
- Assisting customers to use the library catalogue and their online library account
- Promote library services and encourage and support residents to access library digital resources
- Helping customers to use emails, including attaching files
- Assisting customers to access library wifi and wifi printing
- Delivering IT skills sessions for beginners
