Domestic disposal of asbestos
- Bonded asbestos, ie asbestos cement products, can be accepted Chalvey Waste Transfer Station through the Household Waste Recycling Centre.
- If you are disposing of Asbestos DIY waste from small scale projects carried out by the householder, you can hand in two 1m x 1m sheets for free. After this, there is a charge of £4.80 per 1m x1m piece for disposing asbestos: Once the charge has been confirmed, agreed and paid for you can then dispose of your waste.
The disposal of asbestos at the Chalvey Waste Transfer Station will only be accepted if:
- you are a resident of Slough; bring proof of address with you, such as a recent utility bill and photo ID (drivers license or passport);
- the cement bonded asbestos comes from a domestic property within Slough e.g. a shed roof, drainpipes, water tank;
- you have no more than 5, small, (which can be carried in a car) sheets of bonded asbestos. If you have more than 5, you may need to consult a specialist Asbestos Removal Contractor, licensed by the Health and Safety Executive.
- the asbestos has been dampened down and then double bagged, or it is wrapped tightly in plastic to prevent the release of dust
- you bring manageable sized pieces of asbestos, as staff are not able to assist you.
- please note: you must inform a member of staff on site that you are planning to dispose of asbestos.

Larger or trade disposal
Demolition and disposal of waste of larger asbestos cement structures or other types of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) will need to be carried out by a specialist Asbestos Removal Contractor, Licensed by the Health and Safety Executive.
