Becoming a childminder
A career in home-based care and becoming a Childminder can be very rewarding, whatever your background or age.

Following the Spring 2023 Budget, a government grant is now available for new childminder registrations.

Childminders:
- provide a home from home environment to care for children
- enjoy flexible working and a good work life balance, meeting the needs of their own family
- develop a fulfilling career, caring and meeting the needs of children with opportunities to gain professional qualifications
