Giving notice
Usually, tenants must give the council four weeks notice to end a tenancy. Complete the tenancy termination online form.
Rent will be charged until 12 noon of the Monday after the keys are returned.
If the tenant has passed away
In the case of death, we can accept 2 weeks notice.
A personal representative of the tenant (e.g. the executor or administrator) must complete the termination of tenancy on death form. You will need to specify the notice period.
Email the completed form to:
- _northteam@slough.gov.uk (Britwell, Northborough, Baylis and Stoke and Farnham)
- _eastteam@slough.gov.uk (Upton, Wexham Lea, Langley St Mary, Kedermister, Foxborough and Colnbrook with Poyle)
- _southteam@slough.gov.uk (Cippenham Meadows, Chalvey, Haymill, Lynch Hill, Cippenham Green and Central)
They will also be able to advise you about the form if you have any questions or issues.
Entitlement to benefits ends with the death of the tenant. If any arrears are created by the end of benefits entitlement, the arrears must be paid from the late tenant’s estate.
