Fly-tipping, fly-boarding and fly-posting

What to do if you discover fly-tipping, fly-boarding or fly-posting

If you discover fly-tipped waste

  • Do not touch the waste as it may contain syringes, toxic chemicals or other hazardous items.
  • Do not disturb the site as there may be evidence that could help identify the fly-tippers and lead to their prosecution.
  • If taking photos to report it, only approach the fly-tipping site if you feel it is safe to do so.

If you have seen someone fly-tipping, fly-boarding or fly-posting

Please note the following information to use in your report:

  • the date, time, and location you saw it happen
  • a description of what the waste looks like and how much there is
  • a description of any vehicles involved including the vehicle registration number
  • a visual description of the people doing the fly-tipping
  • a photo of the incident - only if safe to take one. Do not place yourself at risk.
