Bus Pass Eligibility
You may be eligible for a free bus pass if you are:
An Older Person
You can apply for a Slough bus pass once you reach State Pension age. Find out the year you will be eligible for a bus pass on the GOV.UK website.
A Disabled Person
To qualify, your disability must be permanent, lasted at least 12 months, or be expected to last at least 12 months. It must also significantly affect your ability to carry out daily activities.
The eligibility criteria below are set by the government, under the Transport Act 2000.
You will automatically qualify if you:
- Receive the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Receive a War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement
- Hold a disability registration card (must be presented when applying)
- Are blind or partially sighted
- Are profoundly or severely deaf
- Are without speech
- Have a disability or injury that significantly affects your ability to walk
- Have no arms or a long-term loss of use in both arms
- Have a learning disability
- Have been refused a driving licence due to physical incapacity (not due to drug or alcohol misuse)
- Have a severe mental illness
- Have 8 or more points in the "Moving Around" component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
What You Will Need to Apply
You must provide:
- A passport-sized digital photo
- Proof of identity
- Proof of address
- A current Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) award letter (if applicable).
