Replacement of the SPZ
Deposit Consultation on proposals for the SPZ 2024-2034
Slough Borough Council working with SEGRO published a Draft SPZ (Simplified Planning Zone) for Slough Trading Estate for consultation. The existing SPZ is due to expire in November 2024.
The SPZ grants planning permission in advance for certain types of development such as data centres, warehouses and industrial buildings within a designated area over a period of 10 years. Once the SPZ is adopted it effectively has planning permission. There is no opportunity to be consulted on the individual proposals.

The Local Planning Authority are currently considering the responses received and will present a report and its recommendation to Cabinet in October 2024.
