Protecting Slough's history and character
The historical environment provides important evidence about the past. These kind of buildings are a finite resource and in some cases are highly fragile and vulnerable to damage and destruction.
The conservation of the historic environment is addressed in the Core Strategy and ‘Saved’ Local Plans. The Core Strategy contains an overarching policy relating to the preservation and enhancement of natural and built environment (Core Policy 9), and Saved Local Plan Policy EN17 relates to Locally Listed Buildings.
