Application searches
You can search for current and past planning applications, planning decision documents and information on enforcement notices using one of the following options.
- To search using a variety of search options within our full online system, to set up alerts for planning applications near you, and to track applications please use our Citizen Portal. This is the best way of searching for information on planning applications and contains links to our document archive website to allow you view documents relating to an application.
- To check documents which were submitted with a current or historic planning application please visit our document archive website. You will be able to search for documents using the application reference number or the address.
- to check planning decision documents including officer reports, please visit our document archive website. You will only be able to search for decision documents using the application reference, and you may prefer to use our Citizen Portal if you want to search using the address.
- to check enforcement notices served against a property, please visit our document archive website. You will need to search using the street name only, for example to search for 123 Test Road, you would search using "Test Road".
Please note these records only go back to 1980.
Comment on or object to a current application
Members of the public can express their views on all planning applications received by us, Slough Borough Council.
After viewing a planning application, you may decide you wish to submit written comments about the proposal to the council. This is called a “written representation”. This representation may show you support the plans, or object to them. Relevant issues raised in these representations will be taken into account when the outcome of the application is decided.
The matters which can be taken into account in deciding planning applications are listed below:
- Consideration of local and national planning policy
- Overlooking/loss of privacy
- Loss of light or overshadowing
- Parking, highway safety and traffic
- Noise and disturbance
- Effect on listed building and conservation area
- Layout and density of building
- Design, appearance and materials
- Disabled person’s access
- Nature conservation
- Previous planning decisions
The matters which cannot be taken into account in deciding planning applications are listed below:
- Loss of view
- Negative effect on the value of properties
- Land ownership or restrictive covenants
- Applicant’s personal circumstances (unless exceptional such as relating to a physical disability)
- Business competition
- Too many already
- Damage to property fears
- Disturbance during building works
- Other matters controlled under building regulations or other non-planning legislation
Please make sure your representation:
- is received by the planning team before the end of the consultation period
- clearly states your name and your correspondence address
- clearly states the reference number of the application
- clearly states whether you support or object to the proposed development, and the reasons for this.
Please note by law, all representations received by the planning department are available for the public to view. You should not include any personal information in your representation.
Please note that all comments will be published (including your name and address but not your contact details) and cannot be treated as confidential.
If you make a comment, we will not inform you of the outcome of the application but you can track it using our online system.
Please note we are not able to respond to specific points raised in your representation.
