Application form
If you are a resident in Slough and a Blue badge holder and have difficulty gaining access to your property you can apply for a disabled parking bay. Anyone with a valid blue badge can park in the bay with no time limit, they are not reserved for you specifically but are positioned so you have priority parking. This service is currently free of charge.
The disabled bays are enforced by Slough Borough Council so you must display a valid blue badge within the vehicle at all times when parked in the bay. If you do not, a Penalty Charge Notice will be issued.
Apply
To apply for a disabled parking bay, please complete the Residential disabled parking bay application form.
You will need to upload copies of your:
- Blue badge (front and back) and
- V5C vehicle registration document (log book).
Checks
Once the council has received your form, we will check that:
- the main vehicle using the bay is registered to the address of the applicant.
- the Blue Badge Team is in support of your application, as the bays are to assist Blue Badge Holders who have serious difficulties in walking.
- a site visit will be carried out by an engineer who will consider any road safety issues, the width of the road, the number of vehicles using or parking in the road and the number of other disabled peoples’ parking bays in the road since its original introduction.
- there is no access to off-street parking. If there is a garage or an off-street area where a vehicle can be parked.
Keeping you informed
Once the checks have been carried out, we will contact you and let you know whether the council is able to continually provide you with a disabled parking bay. The assessment of an application takes up to 8 weeks. If approved, it then takes a further 12 weeks for the bay to be marked. Please note, it may take longer due to the weather and outstanding workload.
