98.2% of Slough’s children receive one of their top three primary school choices

The council is proud to confirm that 98.2% of children have secured a place at one of their top three preferred schools for the upcoming academic year.

A continued reflection of the commitment to offering high-quality education options for families across the local authority.

This year’s school admissions results show that the vast majority of families were able to access a school that matched their preferences, reinforcing confidence in the local education system and the fair, transparent admissions process.

Councillor Puja Bedi, lead member for education and children’s services said: "We are pleased that nearly every child has received a place at one of their top-choice schools. Behind this figure is the hard work of our admissions team and our schools, who are dedicated to making sure every child gets the best possible start in their education journey."

Applications this year remained strong, and efforts were made to ensure that families were supported throughout the process, including expanded outreach, admissions guidance, and improved digital access.

Families who did not receive one of their preferred schools have been offered a place at the nearest available alternative, and support is available for those wishing to appeal or explore other options.
