All of Slough’s children’s centres were recently inspected by Ofsted and all were found to be good, apart from Romsey Close which was found to be outstanding!
In the report, the Inspector highlighted: “The dedicated leaders and staff are passionate about ensuring all children have the best start in life regardless of their backgrounds. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are exceptionally well supported and make rapid progress from their starting points.”
Marie-Claire Avis, Head of Service for Children’s Centres/Family Hubs, said: “We are extremely proud to receive an “Outstanding” judgement from Ofsted. It’s particularly pleasing that the inspector praised the dedicated leaders and staff, highlighting their passion to ensure all children have the best start in life, regardless of their backgrounds.
“I would personally like to thank the committed staff team who ensure every day our children and families are at the heart of everything they do, and to acknowledge the wider children’s centre/ family hub teams who have all contributed to the shared vision, to ensure we provide the highest quality of care and education for all our children.”
Cllr Puja Bedi, lead member for education and children’s services, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the amazing level of early education our children get across the town. In particular, this result for Romsey Close highlights the dedication of the centre’s staff and their ongoing vision to achieve the very best for each child in their care.
“The staff’s passion shines through in the level of effort put into ensuring our children get the best possible start in life. Thank you to everyone involved.”
