Slough Borough Council regrets to announce the death of Roger Davis, a former councillor. Roger passed away on Wednesday 8 November aged 83.
Roger lived with his family in Cippenham for more than 40 years with his children and grandchildren growing up in the area.
He was first elected to Slough Borough Council for Cippenham Green ward in 2008 and was re-elected in 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2022 before retiring at this year’s (2023) election in May.
He served as the Chair of Licensing Committee for more than a decade and also served on numerous committees including Overview and Scrutiny and panels for health, education and children’s services.
As a councillor, Roger also represented the council on a range of outside bodies including the James Elliman Trust, Britwell Youth and Community Project and Age Concern Slough.
A staunch Slough Town Football Club supporter, Roger was instrumental in bringing the club back to Slough with the building of the Arbour Park stadium; an achievement he was extremely proud of.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
