Who can access the Chalvey Household Waste Recycling Centre

The Chalvey Household Waste Recycling Centre can be used by residents living in Slough or the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Safety

  • For safety reasons, children and pets must remain inside your vehicle.
  • You are not permitted to park outside the centre and carry waste into the site on foot.

Should I bring any documentation with me?

Yes. Please bring a proof of address (such as a utility bill) and photo ID (driver's licence or passport).

Access for vehicles under 1.7metres tall

  • The entrance barrier has a height restriction of 1.7 metre (5ft 9inches).
  • You do not need a permit to enter.
  • Automatic number plate recognition and CCTV systems are in place to monitor site usage. Unusually regular users will be investigated.

Access for vehicles over 1.7metres tall

  • If you live in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and your vehicle is higher than the 1.7metres (5ft 9inches) height barrier, you must use the Waste Transfer Station at Stafferton Way household waste and recycling centre.
  • If you live in Slough and your vehicle is higher than the 1.7metres (5ft 9inches) height barrier, you will be sent to the Waste Transfer Station (weighbridge), located in a different area of the site. There, staff will assess the nature of your waste. You may be asked for proof of address and may be refused entry if you cannot supply this. The decision of site staff is final and we have a zero tolerance for abusive behaviour.

What items can I bring to the Chalvey Waste Recycling Centre?

There may be conditions on certain materials being accepted at any time, which will mean your items may be refused. To avoid being turned away, please check the following list before you come to the centre:

At the site

  • Remove waste items out of any black sacks or plastic bags.
  • Separate your waste and recycling into the correct labelled containers.

Waste disposed of in the non-recycling container will be sent for incineration at Lakeside Electricity from Waste (EfW).
