What is the garden waste collection service
The garden waste collection service is by subscription only. If you want your garden waste collected, you must subscribe and have a green, garden waste bin. Please check the terms and condition before submitting a subscription.
When and how is garden waste collected
- The garden waste collection service runs for 50 weeks of the year.
- Green, garden waste bins are collected every 2 weeks but ceases over the Christmas period for two weeks.
- To make sure your garden waste is collected, your green bin should be pulled out on collection day with your house number clearly marked on the the lid or under the handles.
Garden waste collection cost details
- If you do not already have a green bin, you need to purchase one for £48. This is in addition to the subscription fee.
- Garden waste collection is available by annual subscription only. It costs £55 per year which includes 25 collections.
- New and existing subscriptions are treated as an annual subscription based on the date the subscription is taken out. For example, if you subscribed on 20 May 2023, your subscription will end a calendar year later on 19 May 2024.
- We advise you to buy your next subscription no later than 14 days before your current subscription expires to ensure continuous service.

- buy your next garden waste collection subscription or subscribe for the first time and
- if you need to buy a green bin with your subscription.
You must have a Slough MyAccount. Once you sign into your MyAccount or register for a MyAccount (opens in new window) you can then submit the form. Please have your payment details ready.
Our Chalvey Household Waste and Recycling Centre continues to take garden waste free of charge. Our residents are welcome to use this service.
