Who is this support for?
This support is for all food businesses who want to achieve good food safety standards. If you are setting up a new food business, our support helps to get it right the first time. If you are an established business, we can help you to improve your rating to prepare for your next inspection.
Types of support available
Business start-up advice
This includes an on-site visit from an experienced food health and safety officer. They will give you advice designed specifically for your business to help you comply with requirements.
We can give you a copy of a food management system, which all food businesses must have. We will coach you on how to effectively complete and implement the system.
We will write up our advice in simple language and give you any leaflets you need.
Pre-inspection visits
A qualified officer can visit you to make sure you are in the best possible position to achieve a high food hygiene rating score. Before your statutory visit, we can give you an indication of your probable score and what you need to do to improve it.
Support to achieve a 5 Food Hygiene Rating Score
5 is the best score possible. An experienced food safety officer will visit your premises and check your current food safety standards against the requirements for a 5 rating. They will give you advice on where you need to improve and a written action plan.
