Tenants living in a council property are given 1 door fob per adult on the day they move into the property.
If you require additional fobs or a replacement fob to enter the property, you can request one using the fob request form.
How much a new door fob costs
If you are age 64 or under, the cost of a replacement or second door fob is £18. If you are age 65 or over, the cost of a replacement or second door fob is £6.
What to do if your door fob has been lost
If you have lost your door fob, you will need to request a new fob online. New door fobs must be collected from the Slough Borough Council office. You will be notified by your preferred method of contact when your fob is read to collect.
What to do if you are locked out of your council home
If you are locked out of your council home, we recommend you first try to contact a neighbour using their buzzer as they will be able to let you into the building.
If a neighbour is not at home to let you in, you may find that your building has a ‘trades’ button that you can press to gain entry. It is important to note that trades buttons generally do not operate 24 hours a day, so this may only work as a solution before 12pm.
If your attempt to contact your neighbour is unsuccessful, please call Cardo for assistance.
What to do if your door fob has been stolen
Stolen door fobs can be replaced by submitting a fob request form.
How we will respond to your door fob request
After you have submitted the door fob form, we will reply to confirm:
- the amount you need to pay before we issue a new fob, where applicable
- online payment arrangements
- collection and return of any damaged fobs.
We aim to deal with your non-emergency fob request within 2 working days and aim to deliver fobs within 5 working days.
