Statutory advocacy
Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
Support for people facing decisions such as their treatments, medication or being detained under the Mental Health Act. One to one support from an Advocate with specialist knowledge of the Mental Health Act, either in a hospital or community setting.
Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) and Relevant Person’s Representatives (RPR)
Support for people who lack mental capacity to be involved in important decisions about their lives, such as where they live or about serious medical treatment. For people deprived of their liberty in a care home, hospital or community setting.
Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA)
Support for people with a complaint about any NHS funded care or treatment they are unhappy with.
Independent Care Act Advocacy (ICAA)
Support for those eligible through any stage of a Care Assessment, Support Plan, Care Review and Safeguarding. Including individuals who lack mental capacity.
