School admissions

School admissions for September 2021 entry

Admissions opened on Saturday 12 September 2020.

Reception entry

For a child born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 Reception applications for September 2021 closes on Friday 15 January 2021.

Secondary school entry

For a child born between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 2010 secondary school/Year 7 applications for September 2021 closes on Saturday 31 October 2020.

Changes to Reception, Year 3 or Year 7 application

You can only use this form to make changes to a Reception, Year 3 or Year 7 application for September 2020 that you have previously submitted to Slough Borough Council.

Please note: you must not use this form to make changes to an in-year application or for a transfer between schools.

Ways to apply

If you are a Slough resident, the easiest way to apply is online using our Citizen Portal.

Please refer to the phase transfer and other transfer sections below for more information.

Phase transfer

This includes:

  • Starting school in reception
  • Transferring from infant to junior school
  • Transferring from primary to secondary school.

The application process for these transfer groups opens on 12 September each year. Your application will need to be made in the year before planned entry to school.

Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools - September 2021 entry

If you wish to be considered for a place at one of Slough's grammar schools, your child must sit the 11+.

Slough's 11+ process is overseen by the Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools.

Proposed admission arrangements are below.  If there are any comments please forward these to paula.doneghan@slough.gov.uk and sabi.hothi@slough.gov.uk. The consultation will close on Friday 31 January 2020.

Other schools - proposed admission arrangements for 2021-22

Eden Girls School, Herschel Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar School are proposing changes to their admission arrangements for 2021/22.  Please refer to the proposals below. If you have any comments on the proposals, please contact the schools directly by Friday 31st January 2020.
