Coronavirus COVID-19 information for landlords

You may have heard that the Government is introducing a ban on evictions while this national emergency is taking place.

There is protection for landlords as the 3 month mortgage holiday is extended to Buy to Let mortgages.
This is a difficult time and the benefit team at Slough Borough Council want to try and help where possible.
If your tenant has had a change in income due to illness , self-isolation or they are unable to work because their employer is closed. then they should be making a claim for help.

For most working age people this will be to the Department for Work and Pensions.
See information about Universal Credit and the new style Employment Support Allowance:

Your tenant may also be able to get help with their council tax and this can be claimed online.

If your tenant does have rent arrears of 8 weeks or more then housing benefit or universal credit housing costs can be re-directed to come to the landlord direct. If your tenant is getting housing benefit then please e-mail with something to show the level of rent arrears. You will need to include your tenant’s name and address and if we don’t already have it on record the landlord bank account information.
